Former US President Donald Trump lashed out at Pulitzer Prize awards to media outlets that he believes are publishing fake news, including about his ties to Russian officials. The 2022 Pulitzer Prize The Public Service category was won by The Washington Post for its coverage of the January 6, 2021 Capitol Storming. The New York Times also took home three awards, including in the international news category for its coverage of US airstrikes in the Middle East. The award in the News category went to the Miami Herald staff for reporting on the collapse of an apartment building in the town of Surfside. U.S. authorities have been investigating alleged Trump campaign ties to Russia since the 2016 presidential election. Russia denies allegations of interference in US elections. In the United States, the version of the «collusion» was disavowed and the background of the campaign against the former US president is now being investigated.
