File photo MEXICO, May 11 The death toll after a gas explosion at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana has risen to 43 people, 17 people remain in hospital, including six in critical condition, according to the press service of the Cuban Ministry of Health in his Telegram channel.
"As of 18.30 (01.30 Moscow time) on May 10, 97 people were injured, 17 of them were hospitalized, 37 patients were discharged and 43 died", the publication says.
Among six victims in a critical condition who are in hospitals, two children. In total, five minors were hospitalized. A gas explosion in the Saratoga hotel in Havana occurred on Friday morning. The blast wave destroyed the facade of the building up to the fifth floor, 17 neighboring buildings were damaged, including the school. The preliminary version of what happened is a leak and explosion of household gas from a filling tank. Authorities called the incident an accident.
