BELGRADE May 12The exposition «The Brilliance of Russian Artists» with paintings from the family collection of the Serbian collector Vladimir Pesic opened on Thursday at the Russian Center for Science and Culture «Russian House» in Belgrade, RIA Novosti correspondent reports. The exhibition presents dozens of works from the collection of the Pesic family, which is being created with beginning of the twentieth century. These are paintings by Russian and foreign authors, applied art, icons and works made of ivory. Among the authors are Nikolai Kuznetsov, Ippolit Maykovsky, Stepan Kolesnikov, Petr Sokolov, Nikolai Kharitonov, Konstantin Kuznetsov, Alexander Lazhechnikov, Vladimir Zelinsky and Nikolai Krivoshein. For the first time, the exposition took place in January in the city of Vršac in northeastern Serbia. The father of the owner of the meeting, Dusan Pesic, was a correspondent for the Politika newspaper in the Soviet Union and later in Russia. His son lived with him in Moscow from 1983 to 1997, where he graduated from high school and the Institute of Foreign Languages. Vladimir Pesic acquired his first painting in 1989 in Moscow at a thrift store, but his family began collecting art from his great-grandfather, a native of Vrsac. Vladimir Pesic participated in several prestigious antique salons and exhibitions in Europe and Russia, including 46 m Russian Antique Salon in April 2021 in Gostiny Dvor.
