Police have begun detaining participants in an opposition protest in Yerevan demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, RIA Novosti correspondent reports. Oppositionists are blocking the streets, trying to paralyze traffic in the capital. Police officers in the center of Yerevan, several protesters were put into cars, including the former vice-speaker of parliament, Eduard Sharmazanova. Since April 25, the opposition has been holding protests throughout Armenia. The protesters are convinced that the policy of the authorities threatens the country with the loss of statehood.
