The overwhelming majority of Chinese citizens view Russia positively, while the US is viewed with disapproval. The relevant information was disseminated by the Hong Kong online edition Asia Times, citing data from a recent sociological survey conducted by the Central European Institute for Asian Studies. «A new survey among three thousand respondents from mainland China shows that over the past three years their attitude towards Russia has improved, and now the public treats it better than all other countries,» the article says. The opinion of the Chinese about Russia, the newspaper writes, is based on trust in the Russian leadership. The most common answers among respondents were: «We trust (Russian President Vladimir — ed.) Putin», «Putin has willpower and courage.» Many Chinese also feel that there is «brotherly love» between Russia and China and believe that «our enemy's enemy is our friend.» At the same time, almost two-thirds of respondents are sure that Americans have a negative attitude towards China. In this regard, they stated that the country needs to pursue a tough policy towards official Washington.In Germany, they announced a «turn» in relations with China because of Russia. Earlier, the German TV channel ZDF reported that in Latin America they perceive the Russian special operation in Ukraine in a completely different way than in most Western countries. Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua fully support the actions of official Moscow. Another Latin American country, Argentina, in the light of recent events, accuses Western powers of double standards. Brazilian presidential candidate Lula da Silva, in turn, expressed confidence that Vladimir Zelensky is responsible for what is happening. Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. As Vladimir Putin stressed, its goal is «to protect people who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian military strikes only at military infrastructure and Ukrainian troops, and by the end of the main tasks of the first stage — significantly reduced the combat potential of Ukraine.
