MOSCOW, May 19 Human rights organization Amnesty International sent a letter to the President of the International Football Federation (FIFA) Gianni Infantino demanding to pay compensation to migrant workers employed in the construction of World Cup facilities in Qatar for violation of working conditions, reports the BBC. «Until all workers receive compensation, this tournament cannot be celebrated,» says in a letter to the organization.According to the source, the compensation may amount to at least $440 million, in total, up to 30,000 workers are involved in the construction of the World Cup. In April, the organizers of the World Cup admitted violations of working conditions at three companies involved in the preparation for the tournament. The World Cup in Qatar will be held from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
