MOSCOW, May 18. Former world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in conversation with journalist Piers Morgan, he said that he was going to return to boxing before the start of events in Ukraine. Klitschko ended his career in 2017, losing to Briton Anthony Joshua at Wembley. It is noted that he was going to challenge Tyson Fury for a rematch, to whom he also lost in 2015.
"Since he wanted to end his career, we had to have this rematch. I did not do this, my thoughts are now in a completely different world", said Klitschko.
If the fight were held and Klitschko won, he would become the oldest world champion. The record belongs to George Foreman, who won the title at the age of 45. The Ukrainian is currently 46 years old.
