Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he dreams of becoming a member of the European Parliament. «I have a dream of being elected — it's true — as a member of the European Parliament,» Poroshenko said in an interview Financial Times. On February 28, Volodymyr Zelensky signed an application for Ukraine's accession to the European Union. The next day, the European Parliament supported a resolution granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country. Earlier, the EU Permanent Representatives agreed to instruct the European Commission to prepare an assessment of the applications of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova for EU membership. At the moment, the European Commission has not even provided its assessment, which is necessary for discussions on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
