MOSCOW, May 20. CSKA Moscow extended the agreement with team captain Igor Akinfeev, reported on the official website of the club. The contract with the 36-year-old goalkeeper will be valid until the end of the 2023/24 season. Akinfeev is a graduate of the CSKA Academy. He made his debut for the senior team in 2003. The goalkeeper has 704 matches. As part of the Russian national team, Akinfeev played 112 games for the Russian national team, winning bronze at the 2008 European Championship. During his career at CSKA, the goalkeeper became a six-time Russian champion, won six Russian Cups, seven Russian Super Cups and the UEFA Cup. Akinfeev is a 10-time winner of the Lev Yashin Goalkeeper of the Year prize, which was awarded by Ogonyok magazine to the best goalkeeper of the season.
