Nizhny Novgorod players have retained their registration in the Russian premier -league (RPL) and avoided participation in the play-offs, beating Zenit St. Petersburg in the home match of the 30th round. The meeting, held in Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday, ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the team of Alexander Kerzhakov. The only goal from the penalty spot in the 20th minute was scored by Nikolai Kalinsky. «Nizhny Novgorod» scored 33 points and finished 11th in the standings. Zenit suffered their third defeat of the season and ended an 18-match unbeaten streak that had lasted since October 2021.
