File photoBRUSSELS, May 24The Council of Ministers of Economics and Finance of the European Union (Ecofin) on Tuesday did not agree on the technical terms of additional macro-financial assistance to Ukraine for 9 billion euros, but supported the need for significant financial support for the country, the minister said Economy and Finance of France Bruno Le Maire at a press conference. «We have carefully studied the financial package that was proposed by the European Commission, which can reach 9 billion euros. There are technical modalities that need to be determined. We have not yet agreed on the technical conditions,» said he. However, according to him, «there is a unanimity of the member states» of the European Union to provide «massive financial support» to Ukraine. Earlier in May, the European Commission proposed to allocate additional macro-financial assistance to the country for 9 billion euros in 2022.
