The protesters are chanting «Freedom to Dodon», «Down with Maia Sandu». Several hundred people are participating in the picket, the protests are peaceful, there are no clashes with the police. Nevertheless, the police strengthened the cordon of the building. Opposition supporters gathered on Wednesday morning near the parliament building, residents of different regions of the country joined the Chisinau residents. The protesters hold posters calling for the government to be dismissed, prices to be stopped, Dodon to be released, and they oppose television censorship. Then they marched through the city center to come to the detention center where Dodon is being held. Anti-corruption prosecutors on Tuesday detained Dodon for 72 hours, whom the authorities suspect of passive corruption, illegal enrichment, financing the party through a criminal organization and betrayal of the motherland. Searches and investigative measures were carried out in the house of the former leader. The leadership of the Party of Socialists called on its supporters to take part in a rally in support of Dodon. The party later announced mass protests on Wednesday.

Dodon, through his lawyers, said on social networks that he had evidence of his innocence. The politician regarded the actions of law enforcement agencies and his detention as «a political matter that is sewn with white threads.» The politician called on supporters of the Socialist Party to support the protests, he expressed confidence that the opposition «with a firm position and courage» would put in place and «eliminate if required citizens destroying Moldova's regime» of the ruling party «Action and Solidarity». At the same time, the vice speaker of the parliament, Vlad Batrancha, said that Moldovan President Maia Sandu and all the departments under her control should apologize to Dodon for the «shameful performance that was played yesterday,» since this is a purely political reprisal.
