On Tuesday, employees of the anti-corruption prosecutor's office detained Dodon for 72 hours, whom the authorities suspect of passive corruption, illicit enrichment, financing the party through a criminal organization and betrayal of the motherland. On Wednesday, he was formally charged, the prosecutor's office wants to place Dodon under preliminary arrest for 30 days, but the court ruled that he will spend this period under house arrest. «The authorities want to liquidate the opposition forces, because the Socialist Party is also involved in the case. not only the leader, but the entire Party of Socialists, which I headed in the past,» Dodon told reporters.
