Archive photoCHISINAU, May 27.Moldovan communists and the Shor party began a new protest action in Chisinau on Friday, their supporters gathered in front of the government building, RIA Novosti correspondent reports. In Moldova, the protest wave began to grow from May 18, when the opposition parliamentary Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS) and political forces to express dissatisfaction with the current economic situation. Prices for goods, services and fuel have increased in the country, and inflation, according to statistics, has become the highest in Europe — more than 27%. The opposition believes that the incorrect actions of the ruling party and the government led to this situation. The politician noted that «instead of concrete steps,» the authorities are persecuting the opposition. The day before, the ruling majority deprived Tauber and the chairman of the Shor party, Ilan Shor, of parliamentary immunity. The action is taking place peacefully. About 100-150 people have gathered at the moment. The police stand at the entrance to the government building, the patrol around the territory where the rally is taking place has been strengthened. The action on Friday takes place against the backdrop of a meeting of the Supreme Security Council, which was convened by the country's President Maia Sandu. The agenda includes economic and social issues, price increases and risks for the national economy will be discussed. Separately, anti-government rallies and protests are held by the Party of Socialists, which is part of the BCS.
