The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Croatia called the decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry to expel five employees of the Croatian embassy from Russia without legitimate grounds. Croatian Ambassador Tomislav Tsar was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday, to whom a protest was expressed in connection with the «groundless attempts of the Croatian authorities to blame Russia for war crimes in Ukraine and the provision of military assistance by the Croatian side to the neo-Nazi Kyiv regime.» The Tsar was handed a note declaring three diplomats and two administrative and technical employees of the Croatian embassy in Moscow persona non grata. This decision has no legitimate basis, given that we are talking about employees who professionally performed their duties under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic and Consular Relations, and given that the number of employees of the Croatian Embassy in the Russian Federation is currently in parity with the number of employees of the Russian Embassy in Croatia,» the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. The Croatian diplomatic department also indicated that it would continue to pursue a policy of condemning Russia's actions in Ukraine and provide assistance to Kyiv. The Kremlin commented on the dismissal of a Russian diplomat in the UN
