The German government has reduced «to a minimum» the supply of weapons to Ukraine in the last 9 weeks, Welt am Sonntag newspaper reported, citing documents available to the editors. We are talking about the so-called light weapons , «any significant» supply of which has not been carried out since the end of March, the newspaper writes. Until now, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has refused direct deliveries of heavy weapons to Ukraine, promising, as part of the so-called circular exchange, to provide the countries of Eastern Europe with new German weapons in exchange for old Soviet weapons that the Ukrainian military could use without additional training. However, at an international meeting at the invitation of the United States at the Ramstein airbase, German Defense Minister Christina Lambrecht promised to supply Ukraine with Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns. Ukrainian servicemen are currently undergoing training in Germany to work with these installations.
