Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that conscript David Vardanyan was wounded on May 28 as a result of shelling from Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan later called this message of the Armenian side disinformation. On Sunday, the Armenian military department announced that the wounded soldier had died. «We strongly condemn the gross violation by the armed forces of Azerbaijan on May 28 of the ceasefire regime in the southeastern direction of the border, as a result of which a soldier of the Armenian Armed Forces, Private David Vardanyan, was killed,» the statement says.
