According to the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, by the end of 2022, the EU will refuse almost 90% of Russian oil imports. Thus, the introduction of the sixth package of new European anti-Russian sanctions was unlocked. In the evening, the European Council was able to reach an agreement on the sixth package of sanctions, which will allow for a ban on Russian oil, with a temporary exception that concerns oil coming through the pipeline,» he said.
