The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) excludes the possibility of depriving Russia of the status of a member state while the country is a member of the UN, RIA Novosti told the press — the service of the organization. Earlier, Ukrainian deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko said that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had applied to UNESCO with a request to deprive Russia of the status of a member state of the organization. «Each member state of the UN has the right to membership in UNESCO in accordance with the Charter of UNESCO (Article II) .
