MOSCOW, 1 Jun. The players of the Ukrainian national team made it to the playoff final for the right to play in the 2022 World Cup, defeating the Scottish team on the road.
The meeting, held in Glasgow on Wednesday, ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of Ukrainians. As part of the winners, goals were scored by Andriy Yarmolenko (33rd minute), Roman Yaremchuk (49) and Artem Dovbik (90+5). The Scots scored Callum McGregor (79).
Initially, the match was supposed to take place in March, but it was postponed to June due to events in Ukraine.
In the playoff final, the Ukrainian team will play with by the Wales team on 5 June. The winner of the confrontation between the national teams of Ukraine and Wales will receive the last, 13th ticket to the final part of the World Cup in Qatar from Europe and will play there in group B along with the teams of England, the USA and Iran.
