
MOSCOW, June 3 Belarus national football team lost to Slovakia in the match of the first round of the League of Nations. The meeting of group 3 of League C, which took place in Serbian Novi Sad, ended with a score of 0:1 in favor of Slovak football players. The winning goal was scored by Tomas Suslov (61st minute). In the next round on June 6, the Azerbaijani team will play away with the team of Belarus, and the Slovaks will host the Kazakh team. Earlier, the UEFA executive committee banned matches under its auspices on the territory of Belarus due to a special operation by Russia in Ukraine. Also, the fans were forbidden to attend the games of the Belarusian teams, where they act as hosts. In the group 1 league D match, the Moldavian team defeated the team of Liechtenstein away — 2:0. Goals scored by Ion Nikolaescu (5) and Vadim Bolohan (90+4). In the next round on June 6, the Liechtenstein team will play away with the Latvian team, and the Andorrans will host the Moldovans. The Russian team was excluded from the League of Nations after the decision of the UEFA executive committee, which in May suspended all Russian national and club teams from competitions under its auspices until the end of the 2022/23 season. In connection with this decision, the Russian national team will leave Division B of the League of Nations and drop down to League C.
