File photoBEIJING, Jun 4 A high-speed passenger train partially derailed in southern China's Guizhou province, killing the driver and injuring eight people, according to China Central Television. Passenger train D2809 from Guiyang City from Guizhou Province to Guangzhou City in Guangdong Province on June 4 at about 10.30 local time (5.30 Moscow time), in front of the entrance to Rongjiang Station in Qiandongnan-Miao-Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, the train crashed into a mudflow that suddenly descended on the way, as a result, the eighth and seventh cars derailed rails, one of the cars was carried to the station platform. According to preliminary data, one driver, one conductor and seven passengers were injured in the accident, all were provided with the necessary medical assistance, but the driver died from his wounds. The remaining 136 passengers on the train were evacuated safely. Currently, work is underway at the site of the emergency to eliminate the consequences of the accident, following its causes.
