The ruble has taken a leading position in the liberated part of the Zaporozhye region, gradually replacing the Ukrainian hryvnia, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the region, told RIA Novosti.
" The ruble took the leading position in payments. So far, the dual-currency system remains in the region, but people are much more happy to use rubles, as they see that the hryvnia is getting cheaper and is an unreliable and uncertain currency", Rogov noted.
Earlier it was reported that in the liberated part of the Zaporozhye a dual-currency zone was introduced. The Russian military took control of the Kherson region and the Azov part of the Zaporozhye region in southern Ukraine. Civil-military administrations are working in the regions, Russian TV channels and radio stations have begun broadcasting, and trade ties with Crimea are being restored. Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.
