The President of France frightened the people of Ukraine, declaring the inadmissibility of humiliating Russia in the international arena, said Iltalehti columnist Lauri Nurmi. Earlier, the French leader warned against insulting behavior against Moscow, as in the future it will be necessary to restore cooperation with Russia.»French President Emmanuel Macron voiced what the Ukrainians are afraid of,» Nurmi wrote. In his opinion, the French leader's statement indicates his readiness to partially accept the legitimacy of the Russian special operation. Thanks to such statements, Macron wants to get the role of a «peacemaker» and become a mediator in resolving the situation, Nurmi believes. 
The French urged Macron to listen to Putin, not Zelensky Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine since February 24.
