The Congress of the International Skating Union (ISU) decided to gradually increase the minimum age for athletes in figure skating, speed skating and short track to participate in adult competitions up to 17 years. The decision was made at the ISU congress in Phuket (Thailand) on Tuesday. Currently, the minimum age of participants in adult tournaments is 15 years old. According to the decision of the congress, the age limit will remain the same next season, in the 2023/24 season it will be 16 years old, and starting from the 2024/25 season it will be 17 years old. «If us return, then, as Elizaveta Tuktamysheva showed, age is not so important. In general, the measure, to put it mildly, is not the most correct and effective. Only Russian girls can still jump quads, and at any age.
