Archival photoMOSCOW, June 8The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine initiated the creation of a special council that will deal with the issues of «de-Russification, decommunization and decolonization» of the country, follows from the statement of the department. «At the moment, we have held public discussions and initiated the creation of an advisory body — the Council under the MKIP and UINP (Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance — ed.), which will deal with the issues of de-Russification, de-communization and decolonization,» the ministry said on its Telegram channel.The Communist Party was banned in UkraineRussian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Ukrainian authorities had been pursuing a policy of aggressive de-Russification and forced assimilation for many years. He noted that Russia wants to see Ukraine as friendly, without a ban on the Russian language and Russian culture.
