CAS disqualifies Russian Olympic champion for doping


MOSCOW, June 10 Agency (WADA) on the decision of the International Canoe Federation (ICF) and disqualified the 2012 Olympic champion Russian kayaker Alexander Dyachenko for 4 years, the CAS press service reports. Dyachenko was found guilty of using the banned substances trenbolone and methenolone in 2014. The 32-year-old athlete is suspended for four years, minus the period of suspension already served, the period of suspension is counted from June 9. All the results of the athlete between June 5, 2014 and December 31, 2016 were canceled. The CAS also ruled to disqualify 39-year-old multiple world canoeist Nikolai Lipkin for 4 years, in whose body trenbolone, methenolone and oxandrolone were found. He is suspended from June 9, 2022, after the exclusion of the served period of the provisional suspension. All results of his performances from June 5, 2014 to December 31, 2016, including the 2014 World Championship in Moscow, where he won gold, have been cancelled.
