Alisa Fedichkina— What made you decide to end your career? Health problems, or rather the feeling that in our fierce competition it is impossible to achieve something?— First of all, I left because of health. For some season — the twentieth, in my opinion — I was very often sick. She went on sick leave for a week and a half, then recovered for two weeks and fell ill again. More than five times in a year. Because of this, she could not get into a normal shape to perform. And a year later, the exams began, I had to prepare for the exam, it also took time. Plus, I understood that I would never return to the level at which I was. If you come back, you need to jump ultra-si, because without them it is impossible. All this together played a role.— I remember the World Championship in Debrecen with your participation as one of the most dramatic junior tournaments in women's single skating. Tell me, what exactly happened then that you had to withdraw from the free program?— I was warming up, almost finishing the warm-up, literally doing the last jumps on the floor. And then I remember fragmentarily: I fell, some white glare in my eyes, I lie on the floor and look at my leg. And there the bone is huge, swollen, and the leg is twice as big as the sneakers. Yevgeny Vladimirovich ran up to me. It was still a very long walk from the hall to the first-aid post, and he carried me in his arms. I was in shock, I guess. Then I remember how the coach brought me to the first-aid post. The entire federation was standing around me. I was given some papers that I had to sign in order to withdraw from the competition. I couldn't put my foot in the horse. Painkillers were injected into the leg … and not only. But nothing helped. I couldn’t even walk and, of course, I took off.— Was it a fracture?— No, I had a torn ligament and a tear in other ligaments. No fracture.— A consequence of increased loads or a bad landing?— A bad landing.
