The holiday was celebrated, including in Paphos, Limassol and Larnaca . In these cities, a motor rally with Russian flags and state symbols was held, several dozen cars took part in it. "The square was filled with flags of Russia, Cyprus, Greece, Moldova, Belarus and other countries in which peoples support Russia. More than two thousand people gathered on the square held and chanted slogans in support of Russia", the Russian House added.
The event began with the solemn performance of the Russian anthem. Andrey Panyukhov, Counsellor-Envoy of the Embassy in Cyprus, welcomed the guests. Then a concert of Russian and Cypriot musicians took place, at which patriotic and festive songs were performed, activists from among public figures performed. There was also a fair on the square, where Russian cuisine, drinks, gifts, patriotic paraphernalia were presented.
