File photoMOSCOW, June 14The Latvian Seimas Commission for Defense, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention approved amendments to the law, according to which citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus are prohibited from «substantially participating» in enterprises important for the country's security, the agency reports LETA.According to the amendments to the law on national security proposed by the Ministry of Economy, individuals and legal entities from Russia and Belarus cannot acquire a significant stake or a decisive voting right in an enterprise important from the point of view of national security.According to the agency, if citizens of the two states already have significant participation or decisive influence in certain companies, these people cannot exercise the right to vote from the date the company acquires the status of an enterprise of national security importance.
