Ivan OrekhovCorrespondent SportAll materialsMoscow CSKA officially introduced the new helmsman: June 15, the army team confirmed the appointment of ex-coach of «Sochi» Vladimir Fedotov to the post of head coach of the team. We are talking about the next changes at Peschanaya. Not the best times have come in one of the most titled clubs in Russia. Over the past four years, CSKA not only won the Russian Super Cup in 2018, but also never got into the top three of the Russian championship. Of course, insiders and the media have long begun to dig information about Alexei Berezutsky's successor as head coach of the army team. There were two candidates:
- —Marko Nikolic, who recently worked at Lokomotiv;
- —Vladimir Fedotov, who brought Sochi to the top of domestic football.
The club talked about the impending changes cautiously. «I don't want to feed you with generalities. There will be clarity in the coming days. Before the end of the week we will make a statement. Marko Nikolic and Vladimir Fedotov? No comment,» CEO Roman Babaev told reporters. The comment was given May 30. However, the fans had to wait not a week, but two. Officially, the CSKA press service announced important statements in the style of an alarm clock on a smartphone the day before. Day X will come on Wednesday at 10:00 Moscow time. And now, day X has come. The Army Club and Aleksey Berezutsky made a joint decision to terminate cooperation. Also, the assistants of the specialist Vasily Berezutsky and Grigory Babayan left the team.
"Behind a difficult and difficult season. On the one hand, we had many bright moments, on the other hand, unfortunately, not all of our plans were realized. We made a joint decision with the management: a new coach should prepare the team for the new season. There is no one reason for this decision — it is a whole complex of reasons. I would like to wish the new coaching staff success for the benefit of CSKA. I am sure that the new season will be successful for the team", — the words of the ex-head coach of the army team are quoted on the official website of the club.
Less than 25 minutes later, CSKA announced the arrival of Vladimir Fedotov. The club and the specialist signed a long-term contract (the terms and other details of the agreement have not yet been disclosed) — already on Wednesday the coach will go to the base in Novogorsk to start preparing for the new season. Together with Fedotov, Oleg Fomenko, who also worked in Sochi, also joined the CSKA coaching staff, Murat Iskakov and Radik Yamlikhanov.

Roman Babaev and Vladimir Fedotov Fedotov from Sochi, where the coach initially wanted to stay and where they really expected to keep the 55-year-old Russian specialist (Boris Rotenberg spoke about this in early May). However, Fedotov decided to move on: after Ural, Metallurg-Kuzbass, Sinara, Ararat, Orenburg and Sochi, the coach is heading towards the biggest test of his career.
