In May, it was reported that the Latvian police opened criminal cases, as well as cases of administrative offenses in connection with the events in Victory Monument in Riga. One of the cases was filed against a young man who was walking to a monument with a Russian flag. Before that, it was reported that the police closed access to the monument to the Liberators of Riga located in Riga's Victory Park. Municipal services removed the flowers laid on May 9 near the monument with a tractor. Later, residents of the city began to bring flowers there again.
