On March 2, the International Fencing Federation (FIE) temporarily suspended Russian athletes from participating in competitions under its auspices due to the situation in Ukraine. On May 31, the EFC congress voted for the resignation of the head of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, from the post of president of the organization. «The congress of the European Fencing Confederation ended in Antalya (Turkey). The main result of this event for the FFR was that its delegates rejected the proposal of a group of countries to suspend the membership of federations fencing of Russia and Belarus in this organization,» the message says.
