The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia did not allow a blogger from Kabardino-Balkaria Insu Oguz (Insu Lander) to enter the country due to the fact that a case of terrorism was brought against her in Russia. This is stated on the department's website.
Lander, whom the FSB accuses of facilitating terrorist activities due to correspondence on VKontakte in 2014 (part 1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code), escaped from house arrest and 12 June crossed the Russian border.
Employees of the Georgian checkpoint «Daryali» did not let her through, citing «other reasons» in the refusal document. After that, the blogger spent the night in the neutral zone. Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia Andrius Kalindra promised to give Lander a visa if the Georgian authorities would give her permission to enter.
“It is clear from media reports that this person (Lander – MZ) is accused of committing a serious international crime, such as cooperation with a terrorist organization,” the Georgian Interior Ministry said in a press release.
“If a person does not fall under the terms of Georgian legislation, including threatening the security of the country or being prosecuted for international crimes such as terrorism, drug smuggling and human trafficking, he may be denied entry,” the police added.
Insa Lander and Jihad. The FSB found assistance to terrorism in a pair of personal messages from eight years ago
In December 2021, Insa Lander, who tweeted about fraudulent fees under the guise of charity, was placed under house arrest after a house search in Baksan.
According to the FSB department for Kabardino-Balkaria, the girl recruited Umar Duguzhev to ISIS, whom she met on the Internet. The young man testified against her.
Lander's acquaintances connected her persecution with the fact that she was conducting an investigation against a «high-ranking official in Kabardino-Balkaria» because of the «leakage of money» from the charitable foundation he manages.
