Archival photoDONETSK, June 19 On June 18, Ukrainian artillery strikes hit the building of the Expodonbass exhibition center, the largest in Eastern Ukraine, in Donetsk, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports. The Expodonbass specialized exhibition center was built for the international exhibition «Ugol83» and is one of the largest buildings of its kind in Ukraine and the DPR. After shelling in August 2014, the facade of the building was already damaged. The building is currently not in use. Address — st. Chelyuskintsev, 189. Kyiv district. The Kievsky district of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city. Here are Shakhterskaya Square, Kyiv Prospekt, the railway station, the Donbass Arena stadium. Artem Street, the main artery in the city, also ends here. Since 2014, when the DNR declared independence from Kyiv following a coup d'état there, the area has been regularly shelled by Ukrainian security forces. The airport is considered to be the northern outskirts of the region, completely destroyed as a result of many months of fighting between the Ukrainian military besieged there and the Donetsk militias who stormed their positions.
