They gathered in the city center, near the monument to Stephen the Great. Among the demonstrators are representatives of the Society of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow (an organization operating within the framework of the Moldavian Metropolis). The picketers are holding banners «Stop homosexual propaganda.» «We oppose LGBT propaganda. All our ancestors were Christians, reasonable people… Why is this happening here?» — said one of the speakers at the rally. The action is peaceful, the police do not interfere. The procession of LGBT activists itself should take place along a different street, but repairs have begun there today, about which the mayor of Chisinau warned. Today's march should be its end. The organizers of the rally and the Metropolis of Moldova asked the authorities to ban this event, but the mayor's office rejected the request.
