The police, in turn, said they were checking the truck with the equipment for suspicious items. As a result, the time allotted for the concert ran out, and the organizers had to cancel the event. However, at the end of the action, the protesters adopted a resolution that refers to the creation of the New Life movement, whose goal is to unite all opposition forces in the country and achieve early parliamentary elections. Moldova faced an unprecedented rise in prices in late spring. According to the estimates of the National Bureau of Statistics, the average annual inflation in May was 29.05 percent. Food prices increased by 32.5 percent, non-food products — by 21.45 percent. The opposition blamed the government and the ruling Action and Solidarity party for the economic crisis in the country.
