Archival photoYEREVAN, June 19 One person died and six more were injured in a shooting in the village of Nigavan, Armenia's Aragatsotn region, 60 kilometers from Yerevan, the Armenian online resource shamshyan.com, which specializes in criminal chronicles, reported. According to local news website politik.am, relatives of Matevos Asatryan, MP from the ruling Civil Contract faction, and cousin of Aragatsotn Province Vice Governor Edgar Parvanyan, clashed with a group of young people and then opened fire on them, allegedly because that they insulted Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. 
Armenian police officers suffered from the special equipment of the security forces themselves, while the online publication shamshyan.com reports that seven people were taken to the hospital located near the village of Aparan, one of whom died without regaining consciousness, all the wounded were later transported to Yerevan — to the «Armenia» and «Astghik» medical centers. It is alleged that a criminal case has been opened on this fact under the articles «murder» and «illegal possession of weapons.» Law enforcement agencies have not yet made an official statement about the incident. The former director of the National Security of Armenia, the head of the opposition parliamentary faction «I have the honor» Artur Vanetsyan said on social networks that one of the wounded is a member of the border troops of the National Security Service. According to him, the condition of two victims is extremely serious. «We are waiting for the reactions and actions of the law enforcement agencies,» Vanetsyan said.
