Robert ShilkovichCorrespondent SportAll materialsOn the night of Friday, June 24, a terrible accident occurred in the center of Moscow: on Zubovsky Boulevard, a Mercedes flew off the road at high speed, crashed into a building and caught fire. Not far from the scene of the tragedy was the wrestling coach Arslanbek Aliyev, who showed real heroism at a critical moment. A law enforcement source said that 24-year-old Murat Salpagarov from Stavropol was driving. After the collision, the car burst into flames, and the passengers were unable to leave the vehicle on their own. Passers-by came to the rescue, among whom was the head coach of the youth freestyle wrestling team of Dagestan Arslanbek Aliyev.
"In the beginning, I was in a state of shock, because you don’t see such a picture every day. A terrible picture, I did not expect that this happens — that the car ignites and everything happens in just a minute. We were sitting with friends on the terrace of a cafe about 150 meters from the accident, drinking juice. And I'm renting an apartment nearby. They heard a blow, an explosion, saw that the car was on fire, and immediately ran to help. We live in Dagestan, when something happens, we immediately run to the explosion. I was not alone there, three guys immediately ran up, as it turned out later, from Saudi Arabia. One of them opened the back door, I opened the front door, and they started dragging people out", said Aliyev.
Aliyev and other passers-by were dragged out of the back seats of six people. It was not possible to get the victims from the front seats due to the severe deformation of the car from the impact. The coach noted that it was impossible to pull them out of the car without special skills.
