The authorities decided not to put out some of the forest fires in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Yakutia, the Magadan Region and the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. This is stated in the report of the Federal Forestry Agency FBU «Avialesookhrana»; «Taiga.Info» drew attention to it.
According to the document, we are talking about zones of «carrying out forest aviation work» located in «hard-to-reach» and «remote» forest areas. The report also states that fires will be stopped if they do not threaten settlements, “economic facilities”, and also if “the projected costs of extinguishing a forest fire exceed the predicted harm that can be caused to them.”

According to Avialesookhrana, in Yakutia they will refuse to extinguish a fire of 5.8 thousand hectares of forest, in the Magadan Region — from extinguishing a fire with an area of 2.2 thousand hectares, in Chukotka Autonomous Okrug — they will stop extinguishing the territory of 22.1 thousand hectares.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, it was decided not to extinguish 5.6 thousand hectares of forest, including fires in the Evenk, Usinsky and Turukhansky forest areas, follows from the June decisions of the regional commission for the prevention and elimination of emergencies. At the same time, on June 7, the regional commission recommended that the local forestry ministry allocate 200 million rubles to the Krasnoyarsk base for aviation and ground protection of forests for firefighting and air patrolling.
In May, it became known about the death of nine residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory due to fires. Another 19 Krasnoyarsk residents were injured. At that time, the area of fires in the region reached 981.3 hectares.
