MOSCOW, June 27 Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the second round of the Wimbledon tennis tournament , taking place on grass courts in the suburbs of London. In the first round match, seeded under the fifth number Alcaraz defeated the 155th racket of the world German Jan-Lennard Struff with a score of 4:6, 7:5, 4:6, 7:6 (7 :3), 6:4. Tennis players spent 4 hours 11 minutes on the court. In the second round, Alcaraz will play against the winner of the match between the Dutchman Tallon Grikspor and the Italian Fabio Fognini. Wimbledon will end on July 10th. In April, the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) refused to allow Russian and Belarusian tennis players to the tournament because of the situation in Ukraine. In response, in May, the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) decided not to award ranking points to competitors.
