
MOSCOW, June 30 Portuguese specialist Paulo Fonseca appointed Lille head coach , according to the website of the French football club. The agreement with the 49-year-old specialist is designed for two seasons. His staff included assistant Thiago Leal, fitness coach Paulo Murau, goalkeeping coach António Ferreira, as well as Jorge Maciel, who has been with the club since 2019. Fonseca's last job was with Italian Roma, which he left in 2021. He also coached Shakhtar Donetsk, Porto, Braga and other Portuguese clubs. Under the guidance of a specialist, Shakhtar became the champion of Ukraine three times, won three Cups of the country and one Super Cup. In June, Lille fired the Frenchman Joscelin Gurvennek. Together with him, the club became the national champion in the 2020/21 season, but in the next championship draw, they took tenth place.
