Lawyer Alexey Ponomarev, representing the interests of the detained hockey player Ivan Fedotov, said that his client had an exacerbation of gastritis against the background of a nervous breakdown, and the attending physician did not get in touch. On Friday, the media reported that the hockey player was detained in St. Petersburg by the military enlistment office. Fedotov became ill at the military registration and enlistment office, after which he was hospitalized. Earlier, the source said that the goalkeeper faces up to two years in prison under Art. 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — for evading conscription for military service. «Currently, Ivan is on the territory of the Naval Hospital, military police officers arrived at him. They refused to comment on their future actions, to talk with Ivan's lawyer and mother. The hospital is not they let me in as a lawyer, they don’t let my mother in. His attending physician does not get in touch in any way. Now Ivan has health problems. As I understand it, due to nervous stress, his gastritis is exacerbating. Ivan feels bad. He says that the medical assistance is not provided to him in full measure. It is very difficult to achieve something from doctors in the current state,» Ponomarev said. Fedotov is 25 years old. As part of CSKA, the goalkeeper won the Gagarin Cup at the end of the 2021/22 season. He then signed with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, who selected him 188th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
