MOSCOW, Jul 3 World champion Norwegian Magnus Carlsen said that he has not yet made decisions regarding participation in the match for the world chess crown against the Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi. On Sunday, Nepomniachtchi won the Candidates Tournament in Madrid ahead of schedule. Earlier, Carlsen stated that he was ready to make the next title defense only against Alireza Firouzja from France. «We'll see,» Carlsen replied to the relevant question, quoted by journalist Olympio di Luppi on Twitter. Nepomniachtchi won the previous Candidates Tournament, after which he lost in the title match world champion Carlsen.
