
MOSCOW, July 3 Representatives of Russia were not included in the new composition of the technical committees of the International Federation of Swimming (FINA), according to the organization's website. FINA has seven committees, six of which deal with various water disciplines. The new lineups were approved at the FINA Bureau meeting on Sunday. The Russians were members of the previous compositions of three technical committees: Evgeny Sharonov (water polo), Olga Brusnikina (synchronous swimming), Dmitry Sautin (high diving). «We are grateful to the outgoing members of the committees for their hard work and invaluable contribution. We are confident that the new members will develop the progress that has been made to date,” said FINA President Hussein Al-Musallam. Previously, European Diving Champion Maria Polyakova, Russia, was elected to the FINA Athletes’ Commission.
