One of them said he had decided to surrender and voluntarily lay down his arms. “I didn’t hide. I went out, I didn’t hide,” he said. On Sunday, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the liberation of the Luhansk People’s Republic. The LPR established full control over the city of Lisichansk and a number of nearby settlements, the largest of which are Belogorovka, Novodruzhesk, Maloryazantsevo and Belaya Gora. The total area of the territories liberated over the past 24 hours amounted to 182 square kilometers.
