MOSCOW, Jul 6 National Hockey League (NHL) Deputy Commissioner Bill Daley expressed doubt that the clubs will be ready to select Russian players in the first round of the upcoming draft. The unwillingness to choose Russian players is called a special operation in Ukraine, the situation with goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov, as well as the termination of the agreement between the NHL and the KHL. The 2022 NHL Draft will take place on the night of July 7-8. The last time the Russians were not selected in the first round was in 2005.
