MOSCOW, Jul 8 World Athletics Approves Applications 18 of Russians for admission to international competitions in a neutral status, according to the website of the organization. In total, at the moment, 73 Russian athletes have the right to participate in competitions in a neutral status. On March 1, against the backdrop of events in Ukraine, the World Athletics Council suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes tournaments. In addition, the Diamond League refused admission to tournaments for Russians and Belarusians. Since 2015, Russian athletes, due to the temporary deprivation of the VFLA of full membership in World Athletics (formerly IAAF), could participate in international competitions only in a neutral status, which they received at World Athletics by personal request.
