MOSCOW, July 11, Sergey Smyshlyaev. Friendly relations between Russian and Ukrainian gymnasts largely persists despite the general political situation, Vasily Titov, president of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation (FSGR), said in an interview. Previously, the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) suspended Russian athletes from participating in international competitions against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine. «This (friendly) the attitude has always been and it is largely preserved. We are not at war with Ukrainian athletes. We are all representatives of one of the best and brightest sports. Therefore, in this case, we can only talk about one thing. So that all the same, politics goes aside, and only the spirit of competitiveness and sports competition remained on the sports grounds,» Titov said.
