LUGANSK, Jul 13 The air defenses of the allied forces of Russia and the Luhansk People’s Republic repel Ukrainian missile attacks on Lugansk, RIA Novosti correspondent reports. The city and its environs are again subjected to rocket attacks from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The agency's video shows troops shooting down a target in the sky. At approximately 9:25 p.m., an anti-aircraft missile was fired from the ground at an aerial target west of the city. Within ten minutes, another anti-aircraft missile was launched in the same direction. The Ukrainian army had already launched a missile attack on Luhansk the night before, at 23:35. According to the representative of the People's Militia Andriy Marochko, the target was the military unit of the air defense, which ensures the security of the city, and the missiles were fired from the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Chasov Yar. In Kyiv, they claim that they used the American MLRS HIMARS. Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a military special operation to denazify and demilitarize Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its task «the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kyiv regime for eight years.» According to the president, the ultimate goal of the operation is the liberation of Donbass and the creation of conditions that guarantee the security of Russia itself. The Russian army, together with units of the DPR and LPR, has already completely liberated the Luhansk People's Republic and a significant part of Donetsk, including Volnovakha, Mariupol and Svyatogorsk.
